All the lip pencil tips and tricks you need to know! Featuring our multi-lip pencil, Silky Lasting Lip Pencil!
Do you use lip pencils? You may know them as lip “liners” because they are typically used to outline the lips before filling them in with a lipstick of a similar shade. With precise application, you can achieve a clean look.
Here are some tips for defining your lips:
1. Clean & Moisturized Lips:
start with clean lips and apply lip balm if your lips are dry. Remove excess balm by pressing lightly on a tissue or patting lightly with translucent powder. Doing this will yield smoother application.
2. Matching Color:
find a lip liner that matches the lipstick shade you want to wear.
3. Lining Lips:
for the top lips, start from the center and line them outward on either side. For the lower lips, start from one corner and draw in one direction. TIP: for fuller looking lips, line your lips slightly outside of your natural lip line
4. Fill in Lips:
fill in your lips with lip liner before applying lipstick. This creates a long-lasting effect.
However, this isn’t the sole function of a lip liner– which is why it is often called a lip pencil instead. Many people don’t know how versatile of a product lip pencils are.
Instead of just lining the lips and filling them in with one lip color, you can create a gradient effect by using two colors! Using a thin lip product like a lip pencil enables you to draw precisely and to build up the color until you achieve your desired look.
Use a dark shade on the inner part of your lips and a lighter shade on the outer to follow the innocent gradient lip trend that’s all the range in Korea. Or, do the opposite to create a vampy effect.
Here are some examples of gradient looks:
Missha’s Silky Lasting Lip Pencil contains Porous Powder for a moist finish and long-lasting wear. Shea Butter and Vitamin E derivatives provide for a smooth and comfortable wear. Blueberry Extract and Blackberry Extract vitalize the lips.
